First was the VMA promos [did anyone else who watched them feel slightly uncomfortable for Britney?], then it was rumors of a VMA performance in a British tabloid, and now it’s a chatty hairdresser—all giving us hope that the Britney Spears we know and love is indeed coming back.
Lucky for us, that chatty hairdresser is our very own Kim Vo, the Daily 10’s resident hair guru, who told E! News exclusively that he just may be creating three VMA looks for the ‘E-mail My Heart’ singer.
What could Britney possibly need three different hairstyles for? That info’s way too valuable to be included before the jump…
The first look would obviously be for the red carpet. Vo says he and Brit are still “feeling out” ideas about how that will look.
The second style would be for the show itself, probably something “more chic, like a side ponytail.”
And look No. 3 would be for her Performance! That’s right, we said performance. For such an event, Vo and Brit want something “more quintessential Britney.” “Performance” and “quintessential Britney” said together could only mean our girl is definitely coming back to us.
Before running off to his other hair guru gig, Sheer Genius, Vo also offered some valuable advice on how to achieve Britney’s current look. It’s called S-curl, in which he adds “more golden highlights and less platinum” and tops it all off with a conditioning mask.

No Duet For Britney And Justin
Unfortunately for fans of the former pop couple, it’s not to be, as Access Hollywood has learned that the pair will not be recording a duet for Britney’s upcoming album, contrary to reports.
Justin “is not scheduled to be in the recording studio with Britney,” a rep for the “***yBack” singer told Access. The pop stars haven’t sung together publicly since they shared a stage with Aerosmith, Nelly and Mary J. Blige at the 2001 Superbowl.

وبرتنى زهقت اوى لما عرفت لانها كانت بتتصل بية علشانتعرف ميعاد ادواء بتاع برستون ولما فقدت الامل كانت بتبعتلو رسايل sms المهم فى الاخر رد وقالها معاد الدواء وفى مصدر بيقول ان برتنى هى اللى قاست درجة الحرارة لية ومكنتش عارفة تستخدم الترمو متر فسالت واللى يسال ميتهش هههههههههههههه

August 25, 2008 (Sawf News) - Ryan Seacrest read out an email from Britney's manager Larry Rudolph on his KIIS-FM show Monday morning, August 25, in which Larry termed a recent report on E! that Britney would be performing on MTV VMAs on September 7 as "just wrong."
"Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year. I am telling you officially and unequivocally that BS will not be there," Rudolph wrote in his email.
Rudolph also added that Britney "was in the middle of recording her next album" which is going amazingly well.
Kim Vo, a renowned colorist for Hollywood A-listers including Britney Spears, who features on E! Entertainment's Daily 10, had told E! News that he could be creating three VMA looks for Britney Spears - for her walk down the red carpet, for the show itself and for her performance!

As her path to her former glory continues, celebrities are unwavering in their support for Britney Spears.
Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz admitted that he voted for the singer's Piece Of Me video for inclusion in MTV's Video Music Awards.
"It was awesome. I got to meet the elephant (in the video)," he recalled to People.com at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
"Britney really proves how much the fans really matter, because the fans really want to see Britney win and turn it around."

It's still a week early for the MTV Video Music Awards. But Britney Spears, who is up for three awards – including top honors – has a supporter in the form of hip-hop heavyweight Pharrell Williams.
"She's made her mark with her career," Williams told PEOPLE at Wednesday's Pepsi 500 Running Wide Open party in Hollywood, which he co-hosted. "She's super-talented. She's an entertainer."
Williams, 35, collaborated with Spears on her hits "I'm a Slave 4 U" and "Boys."
"It was cool, it was fun," said Williams, who is currently working on new music with Common and Fall Out Boy.
Besides video of the year, Spears's nominations include best pop video and best female video. She has never won a MTV Video Music Award, despite 16 nominations in her career.
While Williams is rooting for Spears, her musical success does not hinge on success at the awards show, he says.
"I'm not sure [if she will win]," Williams said. "I don't even know if it really matters whether she wins or not."
Spears's live MTV VMA performance of "Gimme More" last year was a notorious disaster. This year, Spears has appeared in taped VMA commercial segments with host Russell Brand, but is not scheduled to perform.
She competes with the Jonas Brothers, Chris Brown, the Pussycat Dolls and the Ting Tings, for video of the year.

The Boombastic Mr Lover Lover man Shaggy has revealed that he wants to do a reggae duet with both Britney Spears and Robbie Williams.
Talking to us ahead of the release of his greatest hits album, out this week, the It Wasn't Me star said: "Imagine Britney Spears doing a hardcore dancehall record, have her doing the dutty wine! Or Robbie Williams doing an old classic rubabdub dub riddim or something like that, something unique. It can’t be just a regular collaboration.”

Britney Spears hits Las Vegas in a teeny bikini
Britney Spears hit Las Vegas for dose of rest and relaxation over the weekend.
The star was spotted lounging by the pool in a tiny white bikini at the Mirage hotel yesterday accompanied by a group of girlfriends. Britney was rumoured to be gearing up to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards later this week, but her manager denied she'll be taking to the stage.
Larry Rudolph said: 'Contrary to media reports, Britney was never slated to perform at this year's VMAs.'
'She's in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and her focus remains on the studio.'
Britney's disastrous performance of Gimme More at last year’s event was slammed by critics and fans alike. This year Britney is nominated for video of the year, best pop video and best female video all for her track Piece of Me. She has never won a MTV Video Music Award, despite 16 nominations in her career.

*RUMOR* - "UNDERGROUND" - possible 1st single
According to some conversation, one member from Jive Records group has announced a "Reunion", that will begin in August late. The Reunion will be followed to comment about the first new big single named "Underground", which it will be in her new album including some songs called "QuickSand", "Amnesia". The album is expected to drop at the end of 2008 according to her record label.
For the moment the brand new single is a electric dance and too catchy. It portrays about the first kickoff to restart her new life. It´s kinda vindictive and dangerous. It says like "you took my innocence away, you had invited me to play with my own dreams, you made me go this way, but now I don´t care, cause it´s my time and I´ll put you underground". The song maybe will be able to hear in October late, starting to record the song´s video in September. "We can see the Return of Britney Spears little by little, she is really getting back and working hard. She´s amazing." Lady GaGa told us after heard her project song in Britney´s voice. So, let´s wait for this first new single and see how it will be with our pop princess.

"Celebrities" React to Britney's 2008 VMA Comeback
The MTV VMA's are right around the corner and the biggest buzz is whether Britney Spears will perform or not. Spears' camp already confirmed that she'll be opening the show, but that hasn't stopped stars and fans alike from rooting for a comeback. Hollyscoop caught up with celebs during the 944 two year anniversary bash on Wednesday to get their reactions:
Guillermo Diaz:
"I'm excited about it. I wanna find her and hang out and have a drink with her."
Tila Tequila:
"I really hope that she does perform. I was there last year when she performed, right in the front row. I think she should have a chance to do another performance. We're all rooting for her."
Karina Smirnoff:
"I can’t wait. I think Britney’s back in shape, she gonna do amazing. I think the industry keeps giving her more and more opportunities to come back and I think this is her time."

VMA performance or not, Miley Cyrus is pumped up for Britney Spears to do whatever she's doing at the MTV self-love fest this weekend.
Cyrus is in New York City, prepping for a huge gig at CBS' upcoming Condé Nast-sponsored Fashion Rocks charity concert featuring music legends and fashionistas to benefit cancer research. When popping out of a midtown rehearsal space yesterday, photogs asked Cyrus if she was looking forward to Spears' do-over.
"It will be awesome, I can't wait," she said.
And the busy teen star definitely couldn't wait around talking to photogs either. She hopped into a waiting SUV, which whisked her off to rehearsal for tonight's all-star performance of a track called "Just Stand Up" for another worthy cause, tonight's Stand Up To Cancer event

Magazine about her latest album, her relationship with mom Lynne, and her current support system in their latest issue out on stands now. “Regardless of what people might think, Britney’s isn’t upset about Lynne’s book,” an insider tells OK!. “I’m at a stage where I really appreciate her a lot more,” Britney said.
And according to Britney, her next album is her “best work ever.” “It’s more urban. I’m working with producers who are just amazing, and I’m writing every day.”
“Britney’s road back is such an extraordinary journey that it is being documented daily on videotape by one of her staff members,” reports OK!. “Some of the video will be seen on her reworked Web site, which will relaunch in advance of the album release.”
Britney Spears has long had questionable taste in men.
So it shouldn’t exactly comes as a surprise that she’s turned her attention to Russell Brand, a former drug user who has been treated for *** addition.
The pair are said to have enjoyed an intimate dinner last night at Hollywood’s Little Red Door restaurant, where they arrived and left separately in an apparent effort to avoid being photographed together.
The certainly looked comfortable in each other’s company at the star studded event, Russell at one point resting his hand on her leg.
Just hours before their romantic dinner last night, Russell told reporters he was back on the prowl after a three-month relationship with Australian Teresa Palmer, describing himself as ‘footloose and fancy free’.
The lothario, who has dated Kate Moss and Sadie Frost, had previously said he had fallen in love with Palmer, even going so far as to say: ‘There’s no more womanising.’
Britney, who has already clocked up two ill-fated marriages with Kevin Federline and Jason Alexander, has been single since splitting from Birmingham born paparazzo Adnan Ghalib earlier this year.
Britney Spears, who recently won three VMA awards, gained a new album as her improving health and popularity continued to be successful.
The “Toxic” singer encountered a lot of problems: a messy divorce, custody battle and continuing concerns about her mental condition left industry bigwigs worried about the future of her career.
The record label thought getting an album together for next spring was as good as they could hope for. But RCA bosses are so impressed by her recent recovery, including a triumphant return at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, that they are now planning to put out her next album in December.
An insider revealed: “Britney’s last album, Blackout, was released in the middle of her meltdown and carried negative associations.”
The insider added: “It did OK but wasn’t as big as her previous releases. Label chiefs vowed her private life would never be allowed to overshadow her career again. However, they’ve been astonished by how well she’s managed to piece her life back together.”
The last few months have been among Britney Spears’ most productive and she has recorded a mountain of songs. The plan is for a single in November then a big relaunch in December with the album and live shows.
It was nice to see Britney Spears looking so much better at the MTV bash. As long as she keeps away from the hair clippers, her Christmas comeback could be a cracker.

The Jonas Brothers Are Britney's Biggest Fans
The Jonas Brothers couldn't contain their excitement when they met long time idol Britney Spears at the Video Music Awards.
The brothers posed for pictures and chatted with Britney about the reformed singer's old bodyguard Rob and her former assistant Felicia - who now work with the Jonas camp.
When asked by Us Weekly if they were excited to meet their idol Nick Jonas said, "Hell yes - we were so excited!
"It is an honour and privilege to meet Britney Spears, of course. She looked great."

Britney Spears' New Album, Circus, Slated For December 2 Release
Britney's not wasting any time. On the heels of her three wins at the 2008 VMAs, the singer's label announced Monday (September 15) that she'll be releasing her next album on December 2, her 27th birthday.
According to Jive Records, the album will be called Circus, an apt title considering the events of her life since the release of Blackout. The first single, "Womanizer," produced by the Outsyders, is slated to hit the radio on September 22.
Britney-watchers, and even some of her collaborators, had predicted the album wouldn't come out until early next year. A December release date leaves a tight window for the singer to complete her sixth studio album. But Spears has been recording since earlier this summer, and she has more sessions coming up, according to songwriter and producer Keri Hilson.
She's got plenty of help too. In addition to known collaborators Hilson, the Outsyders, Sean Garrett, Rodney Jerkins, Lil Jon and Nate "Danjahandz" Hills, Spears is also working with with Dr. Luke (who wrote and produced the album's title track), Guy Sigsworth, Bloodshy & Avant (who produced past hits "Piece of Me" and "Toxic") and Max Martin (who wrote "... Baby One More Time" and "Oops! ... I Did It Again").
There's no word yet on what kind of promotion Spears will be able to do for Circus. For Blackout, she shot a few videos, did one interview (sort of) on Ryan Seacrest's show and then became a daily headline fixture for anything but her music.
She may need to do much more to make Circus a success, Perez Hilton told MTV News. "She needs to do what's involved [this time]," he said. "Do interviews, do a tour. Don't release it until you're ready to promote it."

During the past four months, Spears has recorded some 30 tracks for her sixth studio album. “I wanted to experiment with producers I haven’t worked with much before, like the Underdogs, who have a Timbaland kind of sound,” says Spears from an L.A. studio where pop craftsmen like Dr. Luke ["I Kissed a Girl"] and Danja teamed up with Spears for her comeback disc. Among the contenders are the thickly layered bump-and-grind of “Circus” and “Womanizer,” produced by the Atlanta team the Outsyders. “I came into the studio because I had some free time,” she says. “But once I started working, I was like, ‘This is cool!’ It just happened.
Gossip blogs and celebrity Web sites lit up Friday when a 37-second, static-filled snippet of the first single from Britney Spears’ upcoming album, Circus, was briefly posted on a radio station’s Web site before being removed.
The snippet of disco-inflected track, called “Womanizer,” was briefly posted on the Web site of Nashville radio station 107.5-FM The River before being taken down, although at press time the clip could still be found elsewhere online.
Based on the brief snippet, the Outsyders-produced song is a bouncy dance track with a sing-song chorus that frequently repeats the title; Britney coos about a possible lover who has a reputation of being a womanizer.
According to Britney’s label, the station obtained the snippet by recording a phone call in which a radio rep played a rough mix of the song for people at the station — which seems likely, judging by the horrendous sound quality of the clip. At the label’s request, the station removed the clip from its Web site.
Fans won’t have to wait long for the song’s official release, which takes place on Monday. The album follows on December 2, Britney’s birthday.
Along with the Outsyders, collaborators on the album include Keri Hilson, Sean Garrett, Rodney Jerkins, Lil Jon, Nate “Danjahandz” Hills [who helmed "Gimme More"] and Dr. Luke [who wrote and produced the album's title track], Guy Sigsworth, Bloodshy & Avant [who produced past hits "Toxic" and the big VMA winner "Piece of Me"] and Max Martin [who wrote "... Britney, Jamie, and Larry Rudolph spent the day in Pacific Palisades, at a polo match. Spotted in blue fitted shirt, dark pants, and her signature oversized sunglasses, Britney seemed relaxed and having a great time.
The world will most likely hear Britney’s new single, Womanizer, within the next 12 hours, as it is officially added to Australian radio playlists from 7am Australian Eastern Standard Time. For those who have trouble with timezones, that is approximately 10pm London or 5pm US Eastern Standard Time. Most Australian breakfast radio shows start at 6am.

Britney was hard at work at dance studio tonight. Dressed in a pink tank-top and her favorite black sweats, Britney danced the night away. Could it be for an up coming music video or tour!?.
Radio stations were supposed to start playing Britney Spears’ new single “Womanizer” on Monday. But instead the pop star’s record label pushed back the release by a week.
The last minute delay comes after a 37-second segment of “Womanizer” was leaked and played on the Web site of a Nashville, Tennessee, radio station on Friday. The leak had a short life that day, as Spears’ record label, Zomba Label Group/Jive Records, told the station to take the song off its site.
Wendy Washington, a spokeswoman for the record company, said on Monday that the single’s release was pushed back.
“Yes, the mix is being finalized and is expected to be done within a week,” Washington said.
The leaked segment of “Womanizer” was not an immediate hit with commentators on the Web. The site Hollyscoop.com said the fake song “Candy From Strangers,” posted online last week by a Spears impostor, was more catchy than the leaked song from Spears herself.
The single is off Spears’ album “Circus,” which is scheduled to be released on the pop star’s 27th birthday on Dec. 2.
Spears has a lot riding on the album, because after a turbulent public meltdown last year she appears to have gotten her life back on track, giving her the chance to make what could be the biggest comeback in years in the rollercoaster music business.

Heads will roll over the recent leak of Britney Spears’ latest single. Jive Records is threatening legal action over whoever is responsible for secretly recording 40-second soundbite of the track “Womanizer,” which will kick off the release of the pop tart’s forthcoming sixth studio album.
“Record company bosses have been frantically trying to pull the material from the internet,” a source tells the Daily Mirror. “But anything about Britney spreads like wildfire.”
“Bosses are considering legal action when they find whoever leaked it. The track wasn’t finished. It’s not good for Britney’s comeback if people aren’t getting to listen to the polished version.”
In fact, a Nashville-area DJ has been suspended from his job at 107.5 The River after he played a leaked version of Spears’ much hyped comeback track.
The station was fined $500,000 by Jive because New York City’s Z100 and Los Angeles’ KIIS are the only two stations in the United States given the right to play the song before it is released nationwide October 7.

Britney’s Former Assistant Still Profiting Off The Star
Britney Spears’ former assistant and pretend cousin Alli Sims is reportedly still trying to profit from her time at the singer’s side.
The hard-up wannabe singer is said to be trying to make a quick buck by off-loading a collection of junk jewellery and various other freebies she collected whilst working with the songstress.
“Alli literally got thousands of dollars worth of swag during that year she was at Britney’s side,” a source tells Life and Style.
“She hasn’t been working, so she needs the money more than she needs the stuff.”
Alli is even said to have adopted the identity of Britney’s cousin to boost interest in her money-making scheme.
The source continues, “It’s so funny that she promoted the sale as Britney’s cousin, when she isn’t, and she’s basically been cut off from any contact with the family.”
But despite her best efforts, business hasn’t been booming so far.
The insider adds, “The first sale wasn’t all she’d hoped for. People trickled in and out for a few hours – something like 20 people the whole afternoon.

Confirmed: Britney Performing On British Show X-Factor
Britney Spears is going from A-list to X-list! “X-Factor” judge Simon Cowell confirmed to “Extra” that Brit will be performing on the hit Brit music show.
“Yes, I think Britney Spears is going to perform on ‘The X Factor,’” Simon said. When asked how Cowell managed to snag Spears, he replied, “We didn’t GET her. She’s got a record coming out. We have the number one show in England. It’s the best show for her to perform on. We’re absolutely thrilled to have her.”
The “American Idol” judge also his personal opinion about the “Gimme More” singer. “I’ve always said this about Britney — that she’s a hugely talented person. Everyone wants to work with her because she’s a star. She’s the number one booking in the world at the moment for a show… The fact that she goes a bit crazy occasionally makes her more interesting. And now she has her career back on track — fantastic. I’m thrilled.”
The snarky judge also admitted that Britney’s past erratic behavior didn’t deter him from booking her. “If she wants to shave her head before she comes on the show, she’s welcome to,” said Simon. “I don’t care.”
Britney Spears’ 7,500-square-foot Beverly Hills home is on the market, a rep for the singer confirmed to Access Hollywood.
“Britney has placed her Beverly Hills home on the market. A spokesperson for the conservatorship confirms she is looking for a fresh start,” the rep said in a statement.
The pop star is asking $7.9 million for the six-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bathroom dwelling. According to its MLS listing, the property includes a wet bar, library, den, high ceilings and stone and mosaic tile floors – not to mention a pool and spa.
Brit has reportedly been looking for a new home in a quieter location such as Hidden Hills or Calabasas.
Things have certainly been noisy at her current house, which she’s lived in for less than two years. In January, she was pulled from the home and involuntarily committed to a UCLA Medical Center psychiatric ward.
The house was made famous also as the enclave of former Brit friends Sam Lutfi and Adnan Ghalib, the former of whom mom Lynne Spears accused of drugging the pop star.
The singer has since made a comeback, scoring three awards at the MTV VMAs and prepping her next album, “Circus,” due on December 2.

They said “Britney is shooting her music video today in LA” They also go on to say that when they were casting dancers they didn’t say that it was for Britney Spears they “used a random artist name”. Without wishing to stir up any of that boring Christina vs Britney nonsense, Britney’s new single ‘Womanizer’ is exactly what Christina is trying - and failing - to do with her own new single. We heard the track in full earlier today and while we enjoyed [what we could hear of] the clip that leaked on Monday hearing the track in full - and at full volume - throws the whole thing into a brand new realm of amazingness. Stylistically it shares a lot in common with Rachel Stevens’ ‘Some Girls’ but in Britney terms it’s a brilliantly executed mashup of ‘Toxic’ with the last album’s more insane moments like ‘Ooh Ooh Baby’. Most important thing: it doesn’t fade at the end - the beat drops out while Britney trills the main “YOU’RE A WOMANIZER OH WOMANIZER OH YOU’RE A WOMANIZER BABY” hook. This track lays a really strong foundation for the fully-realised comeback that didn’t quite happen last time and it’s hard not to think of it as a late contender for single of the year. “Womanizer,” the first single from Britney Spears’ upcoming album “Circus,” hit U.S. radio outlets this morning. The track, produced by up-and-coming Atlanta team the Outsyders, has a thick, synthy sound that should lend itself to remixes and club play.
Lyrically, “Womanizer” finds Spears rebuffing the advances of man with the “swagger of champions.” “Must mistake me as a sucker / To think that I would be a victim not another / Say it, play it how you wanna / But no way I’m ever gonna fall for you,” she sings.
Among the other contributors on “Circus” are Dr. Luke, who wrote and produced the title cut, Danja, Guy Sigsworth, Max Martin and Bloodshy & Avant. The album’s release on Dec. 2 coincides with Spears’ 27th birthday.
Although its video isn’t quite ready yet, “Womanizer” will play during Monday’s (Sept. 29) episode of the MTV show “The Hills.”
MTV today revealed finalists in seven of the eleven categories, including album of the year and act of 2008.
Coldplay, Duffy and Britney Spears go head to head in the former category, while Coldplay, Britney, Amy Winehouse, Leona Lewis and Rihanna will compete for the latter.
The remaining performing artists at the awards, which will be broadcast live from the Liverpool Echo Arena in Liverpool on Thursday November 6, will be announced in the next few weeks.
Between September 29 and November 2, MTV viewers will be able to vote at www.mtvema.com to decide who will win in each category.
“The range of this year’s finalists really does demonstrate the breadth of taste of the MTV audience,” says MTV Europe Music Awards executive producer Richard Godfrey.
“Alongside such superstars as Beyoncé, Pink and Britney, MTV viewers have recognised the massive talent of bands such as The Cure, Greenday and the Foo Fighters as well as new artists Katy Perry, Duffy and Jonas Brothers.”

Now that the Womanizer fun is over, it’s time to get back to business, and nothing screams ‘business’ like a trip to Starbucks, haha. Britney was spotted leaving Starbucks in Hollywood looking bright eyed and pretty, she was wearing a yellow top and had her signature shades on
A rep from Jive Records has revealed that accomplished song writer and producer, Max Martin’s song that he worked on for Britney’s new album “Circus” may be the best song he’s ever done in his career.
“Circus” will be released on Britney’s birthday, December 2nd.
The fact that Max Martin has said this could be his best song ever should be GREAT news for Britney fans since he has worked on a TON of hit records in the past.
Max Martin is responsible for crafting some of Britney’s biggest pop songs, including “Baby One More Time,” “Crazy,” “Oops!… I Did It Again,” “Lucky,” “Stronger,” “Overprotected” and “I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman.”

Britney To Make A Surprise Appearance In Liverpool
Britney’s plane landed at the JFK airport in New York City late this evening. Dressed in a gray coat, jeans and her signature sunglasses, Britney made her way through the crowd with her entourage to her car en route to her hotel.
After two days of madness and mayhem on the streets of New York, pop superstar Britney Spears took some time for herself on Tuesday night when she took in a showing of Broadway hit In the Heights.
Audience members at the Richard Rodgers Theatre tell OK! that Brit was ushered to her seat once the lights were dimmed for the opening number.
“She looked really good,” said one theater patron about the star. “I saw her hair and her sparkly eyes.”
As the musical’s cast began to take their curtain calls at the end of the show, Britney was rushed out of her seat — but she it wasn’t so she could head back to her hotel right away.
“She came backstage,” says In the Heights star Doreen Montalvo. “She was so sweet and generous. She took pictures with the cast and musicians.”
According to co-star Robin de Jesus, Brit was “totally cool,” when she came backstage. “She was freaking awesome.”
That sentiment was echoed by actress Karen Olivio, who told OK!, “It’s always great to have another performer there for you.”
The theater trip finished off a second day of business and shopping in NYC — in which she’d whipped up the kind of pandemonium that only Britney can, bringing entire city blocks grinding to a halt and turning even the most icy-cool, seen-it-all-before neighborhoods into a madhouse of screaming fans.
The Princess of Pop spent the day leading a train of a dozen or more cars full of photogs and fans through the already-chaotic New York traffic, as she darted up and down Manhattan like a yo-yo — searching for the perfect place to shop!
Looking chic in a stripy red-and-black top and black beret, she started the day with another business meeting in a Midtown skyscraper.
Then Brit headed way down town to the exclusive Fragments jewelry store in the trendy SoHo shopping area — but only managed to take one step out of her SUV before getting mobbed and jumping back into the car!
Bizarrely, she then called by her nearby hotel for a few minutes before turning around and taking the whole crazy procession weaving through the traffic again to a swank mall just a few blocks from where she had taken the meeting less than an hour earlier — only to call in at one store and head all the way back to the hotel!
But this time Brit made sure she got her retail fix by having the whole of the Mont Martre store closed down just for her.
She tried on a pile of clothes, including a turquoise silk cowl-neck top [$198], before leaving with armful of goodies.
Then after a quick stop to change into a glam black dress, the ever-expanding Spears Parade was on the move again, heading all the way back up to the Broadway theater district for the show.
We never thought we’d say this, but when that girl leaves town, New York is going to seem like an oasis of calmness and tranquility!
Britney Spears was forced to cut short a shopping trip in New York yesterday after being confronted by a crowd of excitable fans.
The Piece Of Me singer was on her way to a jewellery store in the Big Apple’s trendy SoHo neighbourhood but didn’t get a chance to buy anything after dozens of fans surrounded her.
Just moments after slipping out of her luxurious SUV, the star was pushed back into the vehicle by her worried security team who couldn’t control the swarm of snappers and overzealous fans who were all competing to grab a photo of the star.
It had got around that Britney was due to make an appearance at the store so fans crowded in the street hoping to catch a glimpse of the singer.
Britney seems to be on form for a comeback and is in the city to promote her latest single Womanizer.
She has admitted to a New York radio that she is “definitely” planning a world tour for 2009.
Last time Britney Spears was in New York — almost exactly one year ago — she finished off a wild night in a strip club by putting on one of the dancers’ thongs.
But since she flew in from LAX last night, her latest trip to the Big Apple has been a very different affair.
Instead of heading to the clubs to catch up with her scantily clad buddies, Brit checked straight into her swank downtown hotel to get ready for the busy day of high-level business meetings [and a little shopping] ahead.
The newly fit and focussed singer started today bypaying a flying visit to the Z100 radio station to talk about her new album Circus, before zipping uptown to the Sony headquarters wheres she was scheduled to meet with Barry Weiss, the president of her record label.
But after an hour-long sit down with the boss, Britney relaxed by spending an hour or so [and, it seems, a few hundred dollars] in super-luxe department store, Barneys.
“When she came out of the elevator, her assistant was already carrying an armful of clothes,” said a fellow shopper in the shoe department. “I’d say she’s definitely a fan of this place!
“Britney took a good long look at a pair of Christian Louboutin high heels [$575] and looked like she spent a long time weighing up whether she was going to buy a pair of knee-high black leather Fendi boots [$920], but decided against them in the end.
“She seemed pretty relaxed, twirling her hair around her fingers as she wandered around, checking out all the cute shoes. She looked like she was in her element!”
Brit finished up her spree in the cosmetics section, where she tried out a few different shades of lipstick before picking out just the right red, a Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited #190 [$23], plus their Nobara cream foundation #554 [$27].
Then she hopped back in her car and headed right back to her hotel — without a single second-hand thong in sight.
Britney was seen shopping in New York at, you guessed it, Barney’s. Blue shirt, black pants, hair down, HOT. Hope she’s having funnn in the big apple.

Looks like Britney fans will have to stick with Chaotic if they’re itching to watch the star on grainy videotape.
British-based Heat magazine reported earlier Monday that Spears-ex Adnan Ghalib confirmed to them he has a *** tape of himself with the pop star.
However, a source close to Britney Spears is throwing cold water on the Heat story.
“The story is completely false,” the source tells E! News.
Spears’ rep at Jive Records has not responded to calls seeking comment.
Ghalib is also playing hard to get. His cell phone number is disconnected. His former photo agency, JFX, tells E! News that Ghalib “never worked for us” and has not been able to provide any contact information for him.
Britney Spears’ cousin and former assistant Alli Sims has been barred from contacting the pop star.
Sims was once a regular at the Toxic hitmaker’s side, but she now admits that since Spears’ father Jamie took control of the singer’s affairs earlier this year (08), she has not been allowed to have any contact with her cousin.
Sims was recently accused of attempting to profit from her relationship with the star, by selling off clothes, jewellery and accessories she was given as Spears’ sidekick.
She tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, “I have no idea when I’ll see her again. I miss her every day.”
“When Spears’ dad gained control, he put some rules down… it’s just best for her to not communicate with a lot of people. My main concern is her being OK.”
The move reportedly comes as Jamie Spears attempts to remove allegedly negative influences from his daughter’s life, as she recovers from her breakdown in January.
Spears was also banned from seeing her former manager, Sam Lutfi, who was served with a restraining order in February ordering him to stay away from the singer and her family.

Madonna’s friendship with Britney Spears is reportedly on the rocks after the Toxic singer ditched Kabbalah.
Spears, 26, had been following the mystical Jewish faith as part of her ongoing attempts to straighten out her public image.
But, according to Britain’s News of The World newspaper, Spears no longer wants to be involved with the celeb religion — and subsequently had her forthcoming live spot on Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet tour dumped.
A source says, “Madonna is dismayed that Britney has just dropped Kabbalah.”
“She’s always believed it is a way of life, not just something to pick up and get rid of on a whim.”
“Madonna doesn’t feel she can work with Britney any more because they’re just not aligned on a spiritual level.”
Britney — who releases her sixth studio album, Circus, in December — was due to appear on stage with the Queen of Pop for a live duet as part of the US leg of her tour. But the stunt has now been axed.
The “Womanizer” music video takes place at the Elevate Lounge in the Takami Sushi and Robata Restaurant located in downtown Los Angeles. One scene shows Britney as a ***ed-up waitres, wearing black boots, tight-black leather pants with an oversized black belt, a black leather vest with a white button-up cutoff vest underneath, and drenched in silver jewelry around her neck and wrists. Britney’s left arm is tatted with red roses. The word “Womanizer” is written inside a broken heart on her upper arm and written again in black cursive a bit lower. Surrounded by dancers in similar outfits, Britney walks through the restaurant carrying a silver platter with a glass of brandy on top. To complete her Gothic-waitress look, Britney rocks a shoulder-length, dark auburn-colored wig and black nail polish.
Another scene shows a playful and flirty Britney playing the role of a ***y secretary, dressed in a black & white striped top, a knee-length leather skirt, black-rimmed spectacles and a short, black bob wig. Britney, wearing bright-red lipstick for the scene, plays with the love-interest in the video [wearing a black business suit and tie] - even photocopying his face in the office as she smiles to the camera.

Britney Spears is set to launch a new perfume to coincide with the release of her new album.
The singer - who has previously lent her name to scents entitled Curious, Fantasy, In Control, Midnight Fantasy, Curious Heart and Believe - will release fragrance Hidden Fantasy on December 2, the same day as her sixth studio LP 'Circus' hits the shops.
An insider at perfume company Elizabeth Arden, who have worked with Britney on her beauty ventures, revealed Hidden Fantasy will smell of cherry and vanilla, adding: "The bottle of Hidden Fantasy is the same as the previous two Fantasy perfumes - the only difference is the colour red on it."
Earlier this year, it was revealed Britney had made £13 million in the UK with her scents.
Experts claim the singer's public breakdown and turbulent private life increased the popularity of the fragrances.
Other stars with their own perfumes include Jennifer Lopez, Paris Hilton, Sarah Jessica Parker and Victoria and David Beckham.
